Time Bucket – Energize Your Priorities
Take a look at this little gem I snagged in the iTunes store. Time Bucket is free with a 1.99 in-app purchase to have unlimited buckets. But – right now, you can upgrade to unlimited buckets for free. Yes, run now and snag it for yourself. Then come back. I’ll wait.
Ok – got it? Perfect.
This app is simple. And I’m a simple girl. You can set it up in a few minutes and then update it when you get a chance throughout the day. At the end of the day, you have a snapshot of what you did.
I thought I had a pretty good handle on where my time went. This app has been an eye opener. I found I was busy, busy, busy making meals, cleaning up from meals and basically spinning my wheels. As a result of this knowledge, I have been on a mission to streamline our food efforts in our home. Stay tuned for future posts about that.
I also quickly found I did not have a bucket for “I don’t feel like getting off the couch”. And I certainly wasn’t going to make one. So, guess what? I’ve found myself thinking that it’s not worth taking the time to have a pity party when there are more valuable things to do with my time. Win-win.
It also has helped me keep my life balanced. Having more time to do the things I want to do and enjoy doing – that’s a good goal. I can now see where my time went and where I need to invest more time. I probably won’t keep using it forever, but once I feel I have a good handle on where my time goes, I think I will dust it off once a year or so, just to see where I am.
I’m certain Time Bucket will tell me I spend too much time writing. I’m positive. 😉
Nah.. No such thing!
