G is for  Grace

Grace: the free unmerited love and favor of God, the spring and source of all the benefits men receive from him.

Antonyms: neglected, unforgiven, shame, hatred

Whenever I’m sad, or lonely or discouraged I find hanging out with grace is the antidote.  I’ll search the web for verses, songs or quotes about grace. The truths of God’s amazing love and favor give me hope, peace and gratefulness beyond words. I am not neglected, forgotten, unforgiven or left hopeless in my sin and shame.

Grace is like an ocean stretching into the horizon. Sitting on the shore watching the tide coming in, waves crashing  and sun moving through the sky I think of grace. I didn’t do anything to deserve it, I can never repay it. It goes on and on.  I feel overwhelmed and passionate about loving and obeying Christ out of my deep gratitude.  Like Peter in the Bible, I often fall short again and again.  That’s what’s so amazing about grace. Like the ocean, it doesn’t every run dry.

I’ve shared a couple of my favorite verses, song and a video.  It’s so easy to skim over words we are familiar with. Resist the urge and ask God to open your eyes to see His grace in a fresh, new way today.

Ephesians 2:4-9 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved—and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Hebrews 4:16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
