You are Chosen.
How is it that everyone can relate to being picked last for dodge ball in Junior High? Probability says that someone, somewhere was picked first, right? We all know that feeling of being unwanted. Maybe you have walked around your whole life with the sting of knowing you were an accident.Or you are dealing with the heartbreak of a painful breakup. We all are all too aware the awful pit in our stomach when we take a chance and then don’t make the team, or get published or (fill in the blank).
Whether it’s something huge, or something small – rejection hurts. Think about what risks would you take if you weren’t afraid of rejection? The truth is: Man’s opinion of you isn’t what matters. “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.” Gal 1:10. You are wanted and loved beyond imagination. God has chosen you.
You are wanted and loved beyond imagination.
“But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.” 2 Thess. 2:13
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him.” Eph. 1:3-4
“You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.” John 15:16
Thank you, Father for choosing me before the foundations of the world. I am overwhelmed with the depth of the love you have for me. Amazing love. Why should I, a sinner, be given grace and mercy beyond measure? There is nothing I have done to deserve you, you chose me before I was ever born. Thank you, Jesus for bridging the gap between you and me by your sacrificial death on the cross. I run to you today in grateful tears for I am overwhelmed with your love. Love so amazing. Let my life reflect you today so those around me can see and know how much you love them too. In Jesus name, Amen.
Beautiful writing. I love how you expressed how he feels toward us, that he chose each of us.
I look forward to these words each day. I’m curious as to what the next one will be!
