This is how I was greeted on the first day of spring and then again today. While the calendar says it’s spring, I’m just not feeling it.
But, you say it’s the end of March? Have hope – spring must be right around the corner. And, hope I do have. Soonly I will be digging in the soft dirt again while the sun beats on my back. I’m certain of it.
My view out my window doesn’t affirm the fact. But – faith I have. Surely, for the last four decades of my life, every March gave way into open breezes through the windows and chirping birds. Yes, I am confident this year will be no different.
It’s time to put away the snow boots and order the seeds. Spring is a comin’!
The winter views with no spring in sight make me think about another winter. The winter we as believers have been in since Christ ascended into heaven with a promise of His return. I’m ashamed to admit, sometimes days go by and I don’t even think about His return. But, the signs are all around us. The time is nearing. Are we living like it? Will we be ready when He comes back?
Matthew 24:42-44 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
